Dose for Acetaminophen

Acetaminophen (Children's or Infant's) 160mg/5ml
Acetaminophen Children's Chewable 160 mg/tablet
Acetaminophen Suppository
- Acetaminophen 80 mg/Rectal Suppository
- Acetaminophen 120 mg/Rectal Suppository
- Acetaminophen 325 mg/Rectal Suppository

Acetaminophen can be given every 4 hours for a maximum of 5 doses in 24 hours.
Common brand names: Tylenol®, APAP®, FeverAll®
Please be aware that multiple other over-the-counter drugs (Nyquil®, DayQuil®, Mucinex®, Robitussin®,etc.) and prescription drugs (Hycet®, Norco®,etc.) contain Acetaminophen. If the patient takes any such medications then due diligence must be observed to ensure that adequate time elapses (at least 4 hours) before you administer Acetaminophen.
